Vegetation clearance, fencing renewal and ECoW requirement see CGS and CGC work together on the M2

Throughout January, our team in the South-East have been working on an ongoing vegetation clearance and fencing renewal project.

As well as the operations side, the project includes Ecology support from our Consultancy division.

The work is taking place on the M2 in Kent, between junction 5 for Sheerness and Maidstone East, and junction 6 for Faversham. Chevron Green Consultancy has provided an Ecological Clerk of Works (ECoW) to be onsite for the project's duration.

Sophie Field, one of our ECoWs, will supervise the vegetation clearance to ensure that the work is undertaken sensitively and that all permits and legal habitat requirements are adhered to. As a result, the clearance teams will use hand tools as a gentle approach to clearance.

We also have a tracked chipper in use to make the removal of waste easier.
