Today we're showcasing our Sany 2.7 tonne excavator. We use it with a range of buckets, a rotating 5-tine grapple and a mulching flail that can be fitted to the machine depending on our job.
This model and its gross weight gives us the ability to tow it to and from site on a trailer behind certain vehicles on our fleet; it has a zero-swing cab meaning we can access tight areas on site, and also has proportional controls on the operational joysticks giving us the ability to run the rotating grab with precise control.
We mainly use the Sany for moving material on-site and feeding the chippers; this massively reduces manual handling and removes our operatives from the danger zones that woodchippers create. Using this equipment often results in us needing less labour on site and also reduces the amount of time required to complete a job.
As well as providing cost savings for our clients, using the Sany also creates other efficiencies, such as less disruption to motorists if working within traffic management. Not only does it benefit our clients, but less time on site means better morale within the workforce as they're not exposed to manual handling.
We'll next use the Sany on the M40 to carry out a fence line clearance with a mulching flail. Let us know if you spot it.
