We love learning. It gives us a sense of great pride that our teams are continually adding to their skills and keeping on top of new developments.
Earlier this month, our Senior Environmental Consultant, Sophie Field spent a day with Sue Searle of Ecology Training UK, learning all about the beaver and otter populations in the UK.
The day was spent on the aptly named River Otter in Otterton, Devon. The morning focus was on beavers; Sophie says, “An excellent morning spent on the River Otter, home to England’s first population of wild Beaver reintroduced under a licence, making the location an ideal place to study the abundant field signs available.”
In the afternoon, their attention turned to otters: “The presence of otters on the River Otter was evident in the number of field signs available on the riverbanks…the debate as to whether the spraint smells like fishy mushrooms or jasmine tea is ongoing!”
