Species recovery monitoring of endangered field cow-wheat
Species recovery monitoring of endangered field cow-wheat
Published on 19 Jul 2022

Chevron Green Consultancy has a long-standing relationship with the Species Recovery Trust as Field Cow-Wheat Species Ambassadors.

Last week Amanda Talbert, one of our Environmental Technicians, took part in the annual field cow-wheat survey on Portsdown Hill in Portsmouth.

Field cow-wheat is incredibly rare as there are only three remaining sites in the UK. It is classified as endangered and is on the International Union for Conservation of Nature red list which means it faces a very high risk of extinction in the wild.

We’ve been monitoring its progress over the past few years and so far it has more than doubled the size of its population. It’s so pretty to see it in full bloom.
