Mechanised arb provides safe, quick and sustainable tree removal

Although grass-cutting is keeping our operations teams busy across the country, in the North, one of our teams in Yorkshire has been busy on the M180 removing leaning and fallen trees.

It was decided that the safest removal method on this occasion was a mechanical dismantle. We also used a whole tree chipper and a Unimog with chip trailer to complete the works in one shift. As no climbing team was involved, we were able to reduce the number of persons needed on site, therefore reducing our carbon footprint as less vehicles and overall journeys were needed.
