CGS supports the Lower Thames Crossing social value tree planting initiative

Throughout CGS we have passionate people, giving up their time to collaborate with our clients on various community initiatives.

On consecutive weekends before Christmas Paul Wilson, our MD, and Matt Dawson our Contract Manager in the Southeast, each gave up a Sunday to take part in a social value event with National Highways, Balfour Beatty and Forestry England.

Together with National Highways, Balfour Beatty, Forestry England, local residents and other supply chain partners to Lower Thames Crossing, 1800 shrubs and trees were planted over the course of the two days. The tree guards used were a mix of wood fibre guards supplied by Forestry England that were being trialled and some plastic guards made using over 75% recycled materials.

Well done to all involved, it looked like a lot of hard work and a great achievement 🌳💚
