Here at CGS, we put the environment at the heart of everything we do. It’s not just something we say; it’s an approach we truly feel and act on.
Here are a few updates we have made to build a sustainable outlook into our company culture...
💚Thanks to our group ESG team, we now have a PPE recycling scheme in place. Once PPE is finished, we return it to a specialist company that recycles it to stop it from going to landfill.
🐞Our Ecospheres were created with recycling in mind as a sustainable way to reuse some of the green waste from our works whilst also developing and encouraging more biodiversity on site.
🌟We’ve stopped giving away pointless stuff at events. We’ve exhibited at several events this year, and whilst we know the expectation is to give away things, we have put a lot of thought into each event. If we are going to provide giveaways, we ensure what we give away is useful and nature-based.
🔨Our stand used at outdoor events was built by our team in Curdridge out of old pallets, bringing new life to what would otherwise be disposed of. This outdoor stand has been reused at several events this year, and we will continue to reuse this stand during 2024 and beyond.
🛣Our stand at Highways UK, as part of the Chevron Group, is reused too, as is the fantastic living wall which has been used at many events over the past year and after Highways UK, it was dismantled and rebuilt in a new stand at a different event.
🌳We are discussing with our Group ESG team about putting a sustainable procurement and buying policy in place across the Chevron group of businesses.
The exciting part of all of this is that there’s more to come. In 2024, we’ll be working towards becoming an even more sustainable company with various projects coming on stream. Watch this space 👀
