How can we use technology to our advantage? For the benefit of the environment, our clients and our people?

Over the latter part of 2023, we've been involved in a research and development project alongside Grown in Britain and the Forest Canopy Foundation.

The project involved ground truthing using a drone to map out the woodland assets, verifying what was there and helping to predict what might be a threat to the woodland in the future.

Ground truthing refers to data gathered from direct observation. So, using a drone to confirm our predictions and get a more significant look at the environment saves time and is less intrusive for the habitats being documented.

We'll be trialling this technique further over 2024 and hope to have some exciting results to share with you in due course.
