CGC conduct Preliminary Ecological Assessments along the railway line

Over the winter, our Chevron Green Consultancy Environment team members were working on Preliminary Ecological Assessments (PEAs) in Hampshire and Dorset.

These PEAs were along the railway lines to identify whether planned works along the line would impact protected habitats, protected species or designated sites. The PEAs were also to provide recommendations for further surveys and mitigation advice.

The PEAs formed an essential part of the works preparation to ensure that the planned works are undertaken in accordance with EU and UK legislation. Overall, eight sites were surveyed. Each site took half a day, with one of our ecologists and a railway supervisor accompanying them.
